Homework Expectations
Students in 6th grade can expect between 45-60 minutes of homework on a daily basis. All homework assigned is due the next day unless otherwise specified. All assignments are posted daily on my website, as well as recorded in the student planner/iPad. To receive their best grade, students should be sure to do the following:

Sixth grade students are the oldest students in the elementary and have been here the longest. Therefore it is reasonable to expect that my students set a fantastic example for how younger students behave. Students should always work to be in the DRAGON ZONE.
Negative behaviors will be given consequences dependent on the situation, frequency and how the person can fix the problem.
iPad Expectations
*Remember - iPads were purchased with the intent of aiding and enhancing classroom instruction. They are the property of the school.

- Follow directions
- Understand the assignment
- Use materials appropriately
- Use best effort
- Have a cooperative attitude
- Complete the assignment
- Be neat, tidy, thorough and thoughtful
- Turn work in on time (late work is worth 50% credit)
- Make fixes to poorly scoring assignments. Most assignments can earn back up to 80% credit.
- Study for tests
- Request to retest on low scoring tests (forms are available in my classroom- parent signature required).

- Respectful: use appropriate voice, listen and follow directions, be polite, express appreciation, accept/respect differences in opinion.
- Responsible: Be on time, be prepared, be accountable for your choices, complete tasks, stay organized.
- Cooperative: Be helpful, participate with a positive attitude, be patient, acknowledge others, play in designated areas at appropriate times.
- Safe: Report unsafe situations, remain in designated areas, practice healthy behaviors, follow safety rules in all areas, dress in weather appropriate clothing.

Students will...
- Use the iPad to enhance learning.
- Make good choices with the iPad.
- Not use the iPad to bully, intimidate or harm another student in any way.
- Not use the iPad to take credit for someone else's work, nor to give oneself an unfair advantage.
- Not use the iPad at inappropriate times (ex. when a teacher is talking, during transitions, etc).
- Accept consequences of poor choices when using the iPad.
- Store the iPad in the screen down position when not in use.
- Keep the lock screen and wallpaper school appropriate at all times.
